A new study reveals most popular holiday destinations of German travelers for the upcoming summer holiday season. The study based on the summer bookings of German holidaymakers ranks a Spanish destination at top of the list.
Palma de Mallorca ranked at first place of the study, announced by Association of German online travel portals - Verband Internet Reisevertrieb (VIR) that examined all package tours that the Germans have already booked online for the 2017 summer season.
The region around Antalya, which is still very popular with tourists due to the good price-performance ratio, ranks second. It follows Heraklion on Crete - afterwards Gran Canaria, Hurghada, Rhodes and Fuerteventura. The remaining places include by Tenerife, Kos and Burgas in Bulgaria. 3 Greek destinations; Crete, Rhodes and Kos are in the top 10.
In the Caribbean, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic is on the lead. Around one-fifth of all trips in the Top 10 fall to this Caribbean region. The Maldives and Cancun follow. Then come Dubai, Phuket, Mauritius, Colombo and Abu Dhabi. The top list is rounded off by Puerto Plata - like Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic - as well as Varadero in Cuba.
