Travellers from GCC are switching to tablets and smartphones when making their hotel reservations, with over 70 percent of actual bookings in January this year using these devices, compared to 54 percent during the same period in 2016.
HotelsCombined, the leading accommodation comparison platform, has noted that the number of travellers who use their mobile devices and tablets when searching for hotels has risen to 82 percent in the beginning of this year, against 73 percent in the same month last year.
This means travel sales booked using desktop or laptop continue to decline, from 27 percent last year to only 18 percent this year.
