Sustainable ideas, innovative projects and outstanding commitment are the achievements for which the finalists and the winners of the World Legacy Awards will be recognised. For the first time, in collaboration with ITB Berlin, the world-renowned travel magazine National Geographic will be honouring travel and tourism enterprises, organisations and destinations for their commitment to environmental and social causes.
You are invited cordially by the ITB Berlin, to meet the finalists and winners of the first World Legacy Awards at its press conference and to find out more about their projects and what motivates them.
The press conference will take place on Friday, 6 March 2015 at 1 p.m. in Hall 5.3.
Costas Christ, Chairman, National Geographic World Legacy Awards, Editor At Large, National GeographicTraveler, will introduce the winners and together with Heather Wyatt, National Geographic Director of Communications, will moderate the press conference.
Topics will include why the World Legacy Awards are so important for the travel industry, what sustainable tourism means for the future of travel worldwide, the role of ITB Berlin in this context, and the qualities required of sustainable tourism managers.
Members of the media will be able to put questions to Costas Christ and the 15 winners and finalists of the World Legacy Awards.
