Number of Tourist Arrivals in Indonesia Rises

The number of foreign tourist arrival in Indonesia in July rose by 2.37 percent to 717,800 people on a yearly basis. 

The Southeast Asia's largest economy expects to target 9 million foreign tourists in 2013, higher than that of 8.04 million in 2012.

The Indonesian government is striving to lure more foreign holiday makers to visit the country by encouraging more Muslim tourists and boosting health tourism, as most of Indonesia's 238 million populations are Muslim, with the majority of them moderate.

Indonesian tourism industry has recovered from the Asian financial crisis and terrorism attacks in recent years.
