Admittedly,
this place ain’t flash and most have probably never considered staying here,
but then they’re missing out on one of the most affordable Harbour Bridge
room-views Sydney
has on offer.
The
newly rebranded and renovatedibis budget Sydney East has rates starting at $109 per night
(sleeping up to 4 people), making it cheaper than a taxi home for most. With an
added lure of not having to pay extra for stunning Sydney water views spanning
from Woolloomooloo’s finger wharf to the Harbour Bridge – the question becomes
“why not stay here?”
While you can’t
guarantee a room with a view, you can certainly put in a request when making a
booking which we’ve been told is actually taken into consideration as some
punters opt for a non-William street vantage fearing it’s too noisy instead
asking for rooms at the back of the hotel. However, on our inspection, we found
the double-glazed windows worked a treat during peak hour traffic – but we may
as well just keep that between us.
For interstate or
international visitors, it’s the prime location with the low price tag that is
the biggest draw to choosing this property. Situated in the heart of Sydney’s
popular Kings Cross – Darlinghurst – Potts Point area – the streets are teeming
with an abundance of bars, clubs, restaurants and cafes, plus live shows
(that’s what we’re calling it) which could keep anyone 18 and over entertained
well and truly until the wee hours of the morning.
All of the 115 rooms
at ibis budget Sydney East are non-smoking; paid Wi-Fi connectivity is
available although there is also an Internet kiosk in-house. Accommodation also
includes an all-you-can-eat breakfast, daily.
