US updates Qatar travel advisory amid regional security concerns

 

The United States Department of State updated its Level 3 Qatar travel advisory on 23 October 2026, citing regional security concerns. The advisory urges American citizens to reconsider travelling to the Gulf country because of the risk of armed conflict.

The update does not represent a new increase in the country’s travel advisory level. Qatar was already classified at Level 3 under the previous advisory, issued on 28 August 2026.
