PTS joins 15 other trade bodies, associations and consortiums in the coalition, bringing total membership to 16 organizations.
Protected Trust Services (PTS) recently passed a milestone of 500 independent members after welcoming 96 new travel businesses this year.
The FTC works collaboratively, meeting regularly to agree on priority issues and joint messaging while also assessing members’ views and needs through surveys.
Recent initiatives have included a letter to Andy Burnham outlining the industry’s priorities shortly after he became Prime Minister. The coalition has also surveyed members to understand how developments such as the conflict in the Middle East and the introduction of the Entry/Exit System (EES) are affecting travel businesses.
Luke Petherbridge, ABTA’s Director of Public Affairs, welcomed PTS to the coalition.
“Protected Trust Services and its members are a very welcome addition to the Future Travel Coalition,” he said.
“Since its inception, the intention of the coalition was to give a voice to the widest possible range of travel industry sectors so that we speak with a united, respected voice. PTS represents an important section of the industry which will further increase FTC’s credibility in its lobbying work.”
Emma Collis, managing director of Protected Trust Services, said the organization was “delighted” to join the coalition and add the voice of PTS and its members to its work.
“The travel industry is at its strongest when we work together, particularly when it comes to representing the challenges and opportunities facing travel businesses,” she said.
“PTS has always been focused on supporting independent travel businesses, and joining the FTC gives us another valuable opportunity to make sure their views are heard and represented.”
Collis added that PTS looks forward to working with the other coalition members and helping shape “a stronger future for the travel industry.”
The Future Travel Coalition now comprises ABTA – The Travel Association, AITO – The Specialist Travel Association, Advantage Travel Partnership, African Travel & Tourism Association, Association of Northern Ireland Travel Agents, Association of Touring and Adventure Suppliers, European Tour Operators Association, The Business Travel Association, Cruise Lines International Association UK & Ireland, Institute of Travel and Tourism, Latin American Travel Association, Protected Trust Services, Scottish Passenger Agents’ Association, Seasonal Businesses in Travel, The Travel Network Group and UKinbound.
