Mississippi lands first Dolce hotel in $120million MICE project

Madison County, Mississippi, has approved plans for a $120 million conference and hotel development that will introduce Wyndham’s Dolce brand to the state for the first time.

The project at Prado Vista in Ridgeland will combine a new 5,000-m² Madison County Conference Center with a privately financed 250-room Dolce by Wyndham hotel.

The conference center will accommodate up to 1,800 people and is being designed for large conferences, corporate meetings, school banquets, trade shows and regional events. It will be the county’s first dedicated conference facility.

The hotel will bring Wyndham’s upper-upscale, design-focused Dolce brand to Mississippi, adding full-service accommodations, meeting facilities and multiple dining venues to the Prado Vista development, which already includes Topgolf.

Dolce’s portfolio includes destination-oriented properties in markets including Versailles, France, and Miami Beach. The Ridgeland hotel is expected to provide additional lodging capacity for conferences and events hosted at the new center.

The financing structure is a notable element of the project. Approximately $18.9 million in tourism rebate proceeds will be directed back to Madison County to accelerate repayment of conference-center construction debt.

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts President and CEO Geoff Ballotti said the location fits Dolce’s focus on distinctive destinations and meeting experiences, describing the project as having the potential to become a major hospitality destination for Mississippi and the surrounding region.

Madison County officials said the development is intended to support the county’s growing business and tourism economy, while Ridgeland Mayor Gene McGee said the conference center addresses a long-standing need for a dedicated meetings facility.

The project expands Wyndham’s presence in the meetings and conference segment while giving Madison County a new venue capable of attracting larger events.

For Ridgeland, the combination of a 250-room upper-upscale hotel and 1,800-person conference center is also expected to strengthen Prado Vista as a destination for business gatherings, regional events and group travel.
