Emirates to deploy A350 on Nairobi route

Emirates will introduce its Airbus A350 on flights between Dubai and Nairobi from October 25, 2026, bringing its latest aircraft type and cabin products to the Kenyan market.

The A350 will operate flights EK717 and EK718, providing passengers travelling between Dubai and Nairobi with Emirates’ latest-generation cabin experience across Business, Premium Economy and Economy Class.

The aircraft features spacious cabins, enhanced technology and connectivity, alongside Emirates’ onboard service across its three cabin classes.

The introduction of the A350 also marks the first time Emirates’ Premium Economy cabin will be available to passengers travelling to and from Kenya.

Christophe Leloup, Emirates Country Manager in Kenya said, “The arrival of the A350 in Nairobi marks an exciting new chapter for Emirates in Kenya. We’re delighted to bring our latest aircraft and onboard experience to our customers in market, with more comfort, choice and thoughtful touches in every cabin. Combined with our growing flight schedule, the A350 gives customers travelling on the Dubai-Nairobi route something new to discover, while building on the experience they know and love from Emirates.”

The A350 is the newest aircraft type in Emirates’ all-widebody fleet and accommodates 298 passengers across three cabins: Business, Premium Economy and Economy. The aircraft features bright cabin interiors, additional space and technology and entertainment systems.

The Premium Economy cabin, being introduced in Kenya for the first time, features leather reclining seats with generous seat pitch, adjustable headrests and additional legroom. Seats include charging points, a wood-finished side cocktail table and a 13.3-inch television screen.

Passengers in Premium Economy will also receive a pillow and blanket, while complimentary amenity kits are available on selected flights, including the Dubai–Nairobi route. The cabin also offers Chandon Vintage Brut 2017 sparkling wine.

Business Class is configured in a 1-2-1 layout, providing direct aisle access for every passenger. The fully lie-flat seats are finished in cream leather and include a personal minibar and wireless charging.

A snack display area at the rear of the Business Class cabin provides passengers with access to refreshments during the flight.

Economy Class features a new cabin colour scheme combining sky blue, bronze and cream with lighter-toned wood finishes. Seats are equipped with Emirates’ upgraded ice inflight entertainment system on 13.3-inch 4K adjustable touchscreens.

Economy Class also includes generous seat pitch and leather headrests designed to provide additional support and legroom.

The A350 deployment follows other changes to Emirates’ operations in Kenya, including the introduction of a third daily flight between Dubai and Nairobi in July. The airline now operates 21 flights per week between the two cities.

The additional frequency provides connections between Kenya and markets in Europe and the United States through Dubai.

Nairobi is also home to Africa’s first Emirates World store, which opened in 2024 and provides customers with access to information about Emirates’ products and services as well as personalised assistance.

Earlier in 2026, Emirates introduced a split-payment option in Kenya through a partnership with Cellulant. The solution allows travellers purchasing airfares to combine multiple payment methods through instalments over a 24-hour period.
