SINGAPORE – Trip.com Group has expanded its sustainability initiatives across employee wellbeing, climate action and tourism development, alongside the publication of its 2025 Sustainability Report.
The Group has introduced a new global paid paternity leave policy providing eligible employees with a minimum of 20 days of paid leave. It has also secured validation from the Science Based Targets initiative for both its near-term and net-zero greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets and launched a USD 100 million Tourism Innovation Fund.
The measures are structured around Trip.com Group’s “Friendly Four” framework, covering family-friendly, community-friendly, environmentally-friendly and stakeholder-friendly initiatives across its operations and the wider travel sector.
“Travel connects people, cultures and communities, and we believe the future of travel must also create positive outcomes for the planet and society,” said Jane Sun, CEO of Trip.com Group. “Through our sustainability strategy, we are investing in our people, accelerating climate action and working with partners worldwide to build a more resilient tourism ecosystem.”
The new paternity leave policy supplements statutory entitlements in individual markets and provides eligible employees with at least 20 days of paid leave. The first phase took effect on 1 August 2026 in selected Asian markets, with additional regions scheduled to join during a second phase later in the year.
The policy forms part of the Group’s wider family support programmes. Since its introduction, the company’s Childcare Subsidy has supported 2,038 families.
During 2025, 1,114 employees benefited from the programme, with approximately USD 1.6 million invested. The Group also reported a 100% return-to-work rate among female employees following maternity leave during the reporting period.
Women currently account for 33.1% of senior management positions at Trip.com Group and 52.3% of management roles in key revenue-generating functions. They also represent 33.0% of STEM-related positions across the company.
Trip.com Group also continued its accessibility initiatives through its “Trip for Everyone” project. Improvements to its travel planning and booking services included enhanced colour contrast, scalable typography, screen reader compatibility and keyboard navigation.
The project received an iF Design Award for its accessibility features designed to support travellers with different physical and situational requirements.
The Group also expanded its Country Retreats programme, which is designed to support local economic development through tourism. During the reporting year, the programme created more than 400 direct jobs and supported approximately 11,000 indirect employment opportunities.
Over the past five years, the programme has contributed to approximately 51,000 employment opportunities. Local employees account for at least 80% of staff across 12 properties included in the initiative.
Trip.com Group also upgraded its Global SOS Platform during 2025. The service now supports 24 languages and covers 20 travel emergency scenarios.
By the end of 2025, the platform had handled more than 23,000 assistance requests across more than 100 destinations.
On climate action, Trip.com Group became the first online travel company in Asia Pacific to have both its near-term and net-zero emissions reduction targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative.
The company also expanded its portfolio of lower-carbon travel products across accommodation, flights, car rentals and rail services. During 2025, 2.74 million users selected lower-carbon business travel options. These users generated 23.44 million lower-carbon travel bookings during the year, according to the Group.
Trip.com Group also continued investing in tourism innovation and destination development. At its 2025 Global Partner Conference, the company launched a USD 100 million Tourism Innovation Fund. The fund is intended to support tourism projects and cross-sector collaborations focused on new approaches to destination development and visitor experiences.
The Group also continued connecting local businesses and tourism providers with travellers through its destination products. By the end of 2025, Trip.com Group offered more than 350,000 in-destination experiences worldwide.
The portfolio includes dining and shopping experiences, day tours, attraction and performance tickets, and customised tours. The Group said these products provide additional distribution opportunities for local tourism businesses and service providers.
Trip.com Group said it will continue developing initiatives focused on accessibility, sustainability, destination development and community participation across its global travel operations.
