CzechTourism expands travel trade engagement in India

CzechTourism has expanded its engagement with the Indian travel trade by organising dedicated workshops in Hyderabad and Surat. The CzechTourism India workshops formed part of the  tourism board’s year-round programme to strengthen relationships in established cities and fast-growing outbound travel markets.

The sessions followed CzechTourism’s participation in the MICE India & Luxury  Travel Congress 2026 in Goa. The event brought together corporate travel decision-makers, MICE buyers and luxury travel specialists from across India.

Building on discussions initiated during the congress, the workshops allowed CzechTourism to engage directly with travel professionals in Hyderabad and Surat. The sessions examined opportunities across leisure tourism, premium travel, incentive programmes and business events.

More than 30 travel trade partners attended the workshops. Participants received information about Czechia’s tourism offering beyond Prague, including historic towns, castles, wellness retreats, gastronomy, wine regions, natural attractions and venues for meetings and incentive programmes.

The CzechTourism India workshops also highlighted Prague’s established position in the international MICE market. Brno was presented as an emerging destination for business events and incentive groups seeking alternatives to more familiar European cities.

Representatives from The Julius Prague also participated in the sessions and presented the hotel’s accommodation and hospitality offering. The presentation provided participating travel partners with information about premium accommodation options in Prague and their potential inclusion in leisure, luxury and group itineraries.

Hyderabad and Surat are both considered important markets for CzechTourism, although the two cities have different travel profiles. Hyderabad has a significant base of affluent families, young professionals and corporate travellers seeking premium holidays and multi-city European itineraries.

Surat’s entrepreneurial and business community is supporting growing demand for family holidays, celebrations, incentive travel and multi-generational trips. The workshops were intended to provide CzechTourism with a clearer understanding of the requirements and travel patterns of both regional markets.

Barbara Andelova, Head of Marketing – Middle East and India at CzechTourism, said: “Hyderabad and Surat are new markets for us from a travel trade engagement perspective, and these workshops have given us a valuable opportunity to understand them more closely. India is an incredibly diverse outbound market, and the needs of travellers can vary considerably across metros and affluent, fast-growing regional cities. Every market brings a different set of expectations, interests and travel patterns. By engaging directly with local partners, we are able to understand these nuances better and help them present Czechia in a way that is more relevant to their clients.”

Through these focused travel trade activities, CzechTourism aims to increase destination knowledge among Indian travel professionals. The tourism board is also encouraging the development of itineraries combining Prague with other parts of the country.

The proposed regional itineraries include South Moravia, Karlovy Vary, South Bohemia and other less frequently visited areas of Czechia. These destinations were presented as potential additions to leisure, premium, group and incentive travel programmes developed for the Indian outbound market.
