BCD Travel launches AI-powered data platform

 

UTRECHT, THE NETHERLANDS – BCD Travel has launched Tripsource Insights, an Artificial Intelligence and natural language processing-powered analytics platform for corporate travel and finance managers. The platform provides a unified, real-time view of travel programme, payment and risk data.

Tripsource Insights uses BCD’s direct source-level data to support programme management and spending decisions. Natural language processing queries and visual dashboards allow users to access and analyse information without relying on traditional reports and manual processes.

A survey conducted by BCD’s Research and Intelligence team found that travel buyers ranked collaboration with travel management companies and suppliers on data as their leading priority. Improved data quality ranked second, while lack of time was the main reason cited for limited engagement with programme information.

Tripsource Insights is a core capability of the Tripsource platform. It consolidates data from BCD systems and suppliers within a single interface, supported by dynamic visualisations and an AI Analyst.

BCD has direct access to client data through its systems and application programming interfaces. The company said third-party analytics providers receive travel data through indirect channels, which can create delays and information gaps.

The AI Analyst is built on BCD’s travel datasets and is designed to support daily programme management, rather than only reviewing historical performance. Users can submit natural language questions and access related visualisations, analysis and programme information.

Programme, payment and risk insights

Tripsource Insights is organised around three main areas covering programme performance, payments and traveller risk. The platform is intended to support travel savings, safety and compliance with corporate policies. 

Conscioustravel guides

The programme insights function provides travel managers with real-time visibility into programme performance and adoption. It also includes information on carbon dioxide emissions and progress towards sustainability targets.

BCD’s ticket tracker capability allows organisations to track, manage and reuse non-refundable airline tickets. The function is designed to help companies recover value from unused ticket assets.

The payment insights section provides finance teams with a real-time view of total travel expenditure across air, hotel, rail and car bookings. It also monitors the adoption of virtual payments at a detailed level.

Digital invoices and card reconciliation tools are included within the platform. These functions provide finance managers with a consolidated view of travel-related payments and transactions.

The risk insights function includes an integrated traveller safety dashboard. It displays active risk alerts, destination intelligence and real-time duty-of-care data to support travel managers in monitoring employee safety.
