SAS and Garuda Indonesia have entered into a new codeshare partnership aimed at strengthening connectivity between Scandinavia and Indonesia through the combined international networks of both airlines.
The agreement will provide passengers with additional travel options to and from Jakarta and Bali, as well as Copenhagen, Stockholm and Oslo. Connections will be available through Amsterdam, Tokyo Haneda and, from the Winter 2026/2027 schedule, Bangkok.
The codeshare agreement was signed during the IATA Annual General Meeting
in Rio de Janeiro by Garuda Indonesia’s Director of Transformation, Neil Raymond Mills, and SAS President and Chief
Executive Officer, Anko van der Werff.
Anko van der Werff said: “Garuda Indonesia is a key
partner for connecting Scandinavia with Indonesia and the wider region.
Together, we are making travel simpler and more seamless for the many people,
businesses and communities with ties between our countries. By bringing our
networks closer together, we are creating more opportunities to connect
Scandinavia with one of Asia’s most dynamic markets.”
The partnership reflects the shared objective of both carriers, as members
of the SkyTeam alliance, to expand global connectivity and improve access
between Europe and Southeast Asia.
Under the agreement, Garuda Indonesia passengers will gain access to SAS’ Scandinavian gateways, while SAS customers will be able to connect to major destinations in Indonesia through Garuda Indonesia’s domestic and regional network.
The cooperation also extends to the airlines’ loyalty programmes. Members
of EuroBonus and GarudaMiles will
be able to earn and redeem points across the combined network covered by the
partnership.
Tickets for itineraries included in the codeshare agreement became
available for purchase through both airlines’ sales channels from 9 June 2026.
The first travel date under the agreement is scheduled for 15 June 2026.
