Muthaiga Travel has reiterated that Kenya remains free of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), as tourism stakeholders and health authorities continue to emphasise the country’s readiness to welcome international visitors.
The statement comes amid increased regional attention surrounding Ebola outbreaks reported in neighbouring Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Kenyan authorities have responded by strengthening surveillance and precautionary measures, particularly at border crossings and other points of entry.
According to Kenya’s Ministry of Health, there are currently no confirmed Ebola cases in the country. Authorities have enhanced screening procedures and laboratory capacity while maintaining heightened vigilance across border areas to ensure preparedness.
Officials reported that approximately 80,000 travellers are being screened at entry points throughout the country. All suspected cases tested in Kenya have returned negative results.
Mira Bid, Managing Director of Muthaiga Travel, said: “Kenya is Ebola-free, and open to welcome global travellers. The country’s health authorities have unveiled key protocols to ensure seamless tourism activities. We encourage travellers to stay informed through official channels to make informed decisions. With Kenya’s expansive travel attractions including wildlife, landscapes, culture and hospitality, we look forward to welcoming more travellers from across the world in the coming times.”
Tourism industry representatives are encouraging travellers and trade partners to rely on information provided by official health authorities and verified sources. They also emphasise that tourism, hospitality and recreational activities across the country continue to operate normally.
Authorities have implemented coordinated measures involving government agencies, health officials and tourism stakeholders to safeguard residents and visitors. These measures include traveller awareness campaigns, screening protocols and surveillance systems designed to strengthen preparedness.
Kenya continues to offer access to its major tourism destinations, including wildlife reserves, safari experiences, coastal attractions, cultural tourism products and business travel facilities.
Key destinations such as Maasai Mara, Amboseli, Nairobi and Diani Beach remain fully accessible to domestic and international visitors, while tourism operations continue without disruption.
