Clarity connects travel and meetings platforms in technology convergence

Travel meetings platform integration is at the centre of a new technology initiative from Clarity, which has announced the convergence of its business travel platform, ClarityGo, and meetings management solution, MeetingsPro.

The development marks a significant evolution of Clarity’s technology portfolio, creating a connected ecosystem that enables organisations to plan, book and manage meetings and business travel through a single platform.

By bringing together two established systems, Clarity aims to eliminate the traditional separation between meeting management and corporate travel booking. The integration will allow organisations to book meetings with associated travel arrangements, while providing a unified view of costs, traveller activity, and operational data.

Connecting meetings and travel management

ClarityGo currently supports more than two million business trips, while MeetingsPro manages thousands of meetings each year. The company identified an opportunity to combine these capabilities and create a more streamlined experience for customers.

According to Clarity, the new approach will allow data to flow seamlessly between the two systems, providing end-to-end visibility across meetings and travel activities.

Carl Law, Chief Technology Officer at Clarity, said: “Historically, meetings and business travel have been planned and managed through separate systems, which often results in creating unnecessary cost, duplicated effort, and a disjointed experience for travellers and organisers.

“By converging the two systems, our latest innovation will address this head-on and connects meetings and travel at the point of booking in a unified and data-driven experience. This will result in a step-change in visibility, efficiency and control which removes traditional silos between travel and meetings management.”

Benefits across multiple departments

The integrated platform is expected to support meeting organisers by providing a complete overview of travel requirements and associated costs from the earliest planning stages. This enhanced visibility can assist with budgeting, compliance and duty-of-care responsibilities.

In addition, departments including Finance, Human Resources and Corporate Social Responsibility teams will gain access to consolidated reporting and management information, enabling a broader view of organisational travel and meeting activity.

The company believes the integration will also help organisations address growing regulatory requirements and reporting obligations by bringing together previously separate data sources.

Development and future roadmap

Clarity confirmed that development work is already underway. During the initial phase, ClarityGo and MeetingsPro will continue to operate alongside each other while enabling users to move easily between the two systems.

Law added: “We have been thinking about the potential for this convergence for several years, speaking with customers and colleagues to understand how we adapt to evolving business needs in a way that works for them and build a platform for the future that is better positioned for regulatory pressures and reporting requirements.

“We are now embarking on this journey of convergence, with the two systems co-existing currently, so users can easily move between them. I’m excited to see the impact this will have and the difference this will make to the way our customers and consultants book.”

Clarity will showcase the connected platform to customers and industry stakeholders during The Business Travel Show and The Meetings Show, taking place on 24 and 25 June.
