The agreement will provide passengers of both airlines with access to a
broader network of destinations across Canada and Europe, simplifying travel
planning and connections.
Under the partnership, passengers traveling on Air Serbia’s direct service
between Belgrade and Toronto will gain access to several destinations within
WestJet’s domestic Canadian network, including Ottawa, Montreal, Halifax,
Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver.
The companies stated that the cooperation is expected to improve travel
flexibility, increase destination options, enhance the passenger experience and
simplify the purchase of connecting itineraries.
Sales under the new agreement are scheduled to begin on June 4 through the official sales channels of both airlines.
Jiří Marek, CEO of Air Serbia,
said: “Cooperation with WestJet is an important step forward in further
expansion of our presence on the North American market. With this partnership,
we offer an ever-wider choice of destinations across Canada to our passengers,
with easier and more efficient connections via Toronto.”
John Weatherill, Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer of WestJet Group, said: “We are pleased to welcome Air Serbia as our newest interline partner. According to the airlines, the partnership represents a step toward
strengthening connectivity between the two markets while supporting additional
travel opportunities for passengers.
