Where 2025 saw some headwinds for hydrogen in aviation, the last few months have seen positive green shoots, appropriate for spring in the Northern Hemisphere!
Airbus' ZEROe program (currently focused on a new regional hydrogen-electric powered aircraft) reached TRL3 and a number of significant green hydrogen production projects going live or passing FID - all encouraging progress.
The UK Government's Jet Zero Taskforce also published a hydrogen roadmap that examined a range of regulatory and infrastructure challenges and provided clear areas of focus, complemented by work by the EU's Alliance for Zero-Emission Aviation.
The sense of focus was also captured in January at our Hydrogen Aviation Summit with two days of instructive, engaging and productive panel discussions (find the link to watch these back below).
ZeroAvia has been playing its part in driving forward on some of the next steps identified. As well as continuing energetic work in advancing our first hydrogen-electric propulsion and power generation systems on the certification pathway, we have also been striking important customer agreements, such as the planned work on LH2 systems with the Korean Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI).
