ASTA River Cruise Expo attendees mobilized to support local families through industry-wide giveback initiative
Alexandria, VA; March 26, 2026 – The American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA), in partnership with Signature Travel Network, led a community giveback initiative during the 2026 ASTA River Cruise Expo in Amsterdam, bringing together travel advisors and industry partners to support local families in need.
Through a collaboration with Pack for a Purpose, an initiative of Travel Elevates, attendees donated essential supplies to benefit De Regenboog Groep, an Amsterdam-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals and families experiencing poverty and social exclusion.
Expo participants contributed a range of high-need items, demonstrating the travel advisor community’s commitment to making a meaningful impact in the destinations they visit.
“This initiative reflects what our industry does best; bringing people together and creating meaningful connections that extend beyond travel itself,” said Zane Kerby, President and CEO of ASTA. “Our advisors understand that how we show up in destinations matters, and this was a powerful way to give back to the Amsterdam community.”
That sense of purpose was central to the collaboration between ASTA and Signature Travel Network, which worked together to make it easy for attendees to participate and contribute.
“We are proud to have partnered with ASTA at the River Cruise Expo, bringing travel industry professionals together to give back in a meaningful way to a local community charity in Amsterdam. We appreciate leaders like Zane Kerby who recognize the value of making a difference through programs like our Pack for a Purpose by Travel Elevates,” said Alex Sharpe, CEO of Signature Travel Network.
The effort will help strengthen De Regenboog Groep’s work to provide both immediate assistance and longer-term support to vulnerable members of the Amsterdam community.
“Many thanks to every single person for their wonderful donations,” said Lisanne van den Dungen, Manager of Relationships and Donations of De Regenboog Groep. “The overall quantity and amount of high-quality items donated truly reflects the care advisors have for this program. With these donations, we are able to help hundreds of vulnerable people in Amsterdam."
The ASTA River Cruise Expo brings together travel advisors, river cruise line partners and industry leaders for immersive education and networking. By incorporating community engagement into the event, ASTA continues to demonstrate how travel can be a force for good.
