Since 2019, AIDA Cruises has been committed to better educational opportunities in developing and developing countries and thus to improving the future prospects of children and young people in the poorest parts of the world. In the company's birth year, AIDA President Felix Eichhorn on board AIDAdiva announced the achievement of a major milestone: „AIDA guests, crew, partners and friends have together achieved something great in just six years. I am proud and grateful that we are now reaching the 100th school project with AIDA Cruise & Help. we can work – in places where our help is urgently needed“, says Eichhorn.
The 100th project of the Initiative will be launched in the coming months in the Sambish town of Mulando. There is a very high demand for school places. Due to the poor school infrastructure in the region, however, there are not enough places. Those current scholarships are funding a new elementary school. In the future, around 160 girls and boys will have a safe place to learn and play. The funding of the AIDA Cruise & Help projects is achieved primarily through actions on board the coastal fleet and through the enormous contribution of guests and crew. The school buildings will be transformed into a close collaboration with the long-term partner Reiner Meutsch and his foundation FLY & HELP.
