We are delighted that Poland’s national carrier is expanding the range of flights departing from Gdansk to Brussels, Oslo, and Bergen. We have long known that Brussels was very much anticipated by our passengers. Thanks to LOT Polish Airlines, the Gdansk airport will also expand its offering to include flights to Bergen and Oslo — highly popular and attractive destinations. The new routes benefit the residents of Gdansk who are provided with even better access to Europe. Passengers and tourists will be satisfied as well, as Gdansk will become an even more attractive and comfortable travel gateway for them as well. Local businesses will benefit,  since new destinations translate into new cooperation and investment opportunities, simultaneously stimulating international relations. All newly launched destinations boost the competitiveness of Gdansk, the Tri-City and the entire region. Therefore, we are grateful for the continued expansion of the network of LOT’s flights offered at our airport.

Gdansk – a gateway to exploring Europe

With its location at the mouth of the Vistula River flowing into the Baltic Sea, Gdansk was a natural hub connecting the heart of Europe with the rest of the world. It was from here that vast quantities of grain were exported to the West, and merchants from the Netherlands, England, and Scandinavia regularly called at the port. In no time, the city became a major hub of European trade and a melting pot of different cultures, languages, and traditions. As a result, not only did Gdansk become economically significant, but it also gained strategic and political importance, strengthening its position as a major hub on the map of Europe. Today, air travel has taken on this historic role in a modern way, once again making the city a starting point for exploring Europe.
While each of these cities has its own rhythm, they share some surprising similarities with Gdansk. Brussels seamlessly blends the old with the new — from the monumental Grand Place and Art Nouveau townhouses to the modern European Quarter, where decisions critical to the entire continent are made. It’s a city of contrasts: formal and political by day, and relaxed, vibrant, and full of delicious food by night.
Like Gdansk, Oslo is situated close to the water, and its rhythm is dictated by nature. The modern opera house overlooking the fjord, the Aker Brygge waterfront district, and the many islands accessible by ferry all contribute to the city’s seamless blend of urban design and natural landscape. This is the perfect destination for those who want to combine a city break with rest close to nature — without having to leave the city.
Bergen, on the other hand, brings to mind its port identity, but in a more austere, Nordic style. The colorful wooden buildings along the Bryggen waterfront, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offer a view of one of Norway’s most spectacular landscapes. It’s where you can start exploring the fjords, mountain trails, and coastal cruises — places where nature takes center stage and the city is its natural extension.
These new destinations also offer three distinct travel experiences — from the dynamic, urban rhythm of Brussels, through the quiet daily life of Oslo, to the peaceful, almost contemplative atmosphere of Bergen. With direct flights from LOT Polish Airlines, these destinations are now accessible in an instant — whether you plan your trips in advance or decide to travel on a whim.
Tickets for flights from Gdansk to Brussels, Oslo, and Bergen are available via all of LOT’s sales channels, including the lot.com website, LOT Contact Center and LOT Travel offices.
