AIDA Cruises offers a diverse range of cruises from Hamburg – year-round and worldwide.
With seven ships and 120 calls this year, AIDA Cruises is once again a significant economic driver for the Hanseatic city. On average, an AIDA ship is in Hamburg every third day of the year. More than half of Hamburg's cruise passengers are AIDA guests. AIDAnova kicked off the 12-month AIDA season in Hamburg on January 3, 2026, and will conclude with its arrival on December 26, 2026. AIDA Cruises thus underscores its role as a driving force for Hamburg as a cruise destination and presents the widest range of travel options: from short breaks to multi-month cruises, there's something for everyone. AIDA has successfully developed Hamburg into a year-round destination – with a strong presence during the summer season and established and popular winter cruises. In winter, fascinating itineraries to Norway and European metropolises are on offer.
Furthermore, the "Grand Winter Breaks" from and to Hamburg allow for relaxing getaways under the sun in the Canary Islands or at the Carnival in Rio. The rare natural spectacle of the total solar eclipse on August 12, 2026, can also be witnessed from Hamburg on the "Iceland & Greenland with Solar Eclipse" cruise departing on July 26, 2026, aboard AIDAluna. Special highlights include the AIDA World Cruises departing from and returning to Hamburg. With its eighth World Cruise, AIDA Cruises is launching another 126-day highlight, featuring a fascinating itinerary and a special focus on the Southern Hemisphere.
From October 18, 2026, to February 21, 2027, the AIDAsol will depart from Hamburg, sailing through South America with a stop in the Amazon, continuing through the South Pacific, Australia, and the Indian Ocean to South Africa, before returning to Hamburg.
30 Years of AIDA – Special Event in Hamburg on June 7, 2026
The first AIDA ship was christened in Rostock on June 7, 1996. Since then, the company has evolved from a pioneer in the cruise industry to the market leader in Germany. To celebrate its 30th anniversary on June 7, 2026, the cruise line has planned several surprises both on board and ashore. Hamburg, as the AIDA port with the most calls and guests worldwide, plays a special role: Three ships from the AIDA fleet will meet in Hamburg to celebrate the 30th anniversary. AIDAperla will arrive in the Elbe city on June 6, 2026. The ship will stay overnight to participate in the AIDA parade the following day. On June 7, AIDAsol will dock at the Altona cruise terminal, followed by AIDAprima in the evening. Together, they will meet on the Elbe River, creating a unique spectacle.
AIDA and Hamburg – Pioneers of Shore Power
AIDA Cruises and the Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) have been jointly driving the development of shore power in the Port of Hamburg for years. As early as 2017, AIDAsol became the first cruise ship to use shore power in Hamburg-Altona.
