KUWAIT – Kuwait February travel demand increased by 4.8% year on year for February 2026 travel dates, according to data from Wego, reflecting elevated inbound interest and active outbound planning linked to Hala February celebrations, National and Liberation Day holidays and early Ramadan preparations.
February remains one of the busiest travel periods for Kuwait. The growth in total bookings compared to the same period last year indicates a combination of event-driven inbound demand and calendar-based outbound travel planning.
During the Hala February festival period, inbound flight and hotel bookings to Kuwait rose by 9% compared to the same travel period in 2025. Booking activity was sustained throughout the month rather than concentrated around a single date, reflecting ongoing festival programming, entertainment events, shopping promotions and seasonal conditions.
Regional markets accounted for the majority of inbound demand. The top source markets included Saudi Arabia, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Syrian Arab Republic and Bahrain.
Wego data also recorded clear booking and search spikes around Kuwait’s National Day and Liberation Day in late February. Outbound search interest strengthened in early February, increasing by approximately 50% compared to the previous week.
Outbound travel during the holiday period was primarily short-haul, with 74% of searches focused on regional destinations. Travel patterns indicate preference for flexible dates and shorter trip durations aligned with the extended public holiday calendar.
As Ramadan approaches toward the end of the month, travel planning behaviour shifts. Booking activity in the weeks preceding Ramadan rose by 6% compared to the same pre-Ramadan period last year.
Late-February travel trends reflect shorter stays, increased family-oriented trips and stronger demand for culturally aligned destinations, as travellers adjust itineraries in anticipation of Ramadan commitments.
