FRAMINGHAM, MA – The Travel Institute has launched the fully reimagined TRIPKIT 6th Edition, marking a comprehensive update to its new agent training programme for individuals and organisations across the travel industry.
According to the Institute, while TRIPKIT reaches its sixth edition, the latest version represents a complete redesign, with upgraded structure, expanded content and reorganisation aimed at aligning new agent capabilities with current industry requirements.
Guida Botelho, CTIE, Vice President of The Travel Institute, said: “It’s our sixth edition, YET it’s truly an all-new learning experience. We’ve upgraded, expanded, reorganized—in fact, fully reimagined—to align new agent capabilities with the needs of today’s travel industry. Our goal was to raise the bar for how new professionals are both introduced to the industry and equipped with the foundational knowledge they need to succeed – and we’ve done exactly that.”
The new edition builds on TRIPKIT’s existing foundation and incorporates input from nearly 70 industry professionals. The Institute stated that the programme has been realigned with today’s travel landscape and rebuilt around topics considered most relevant for new agents entering the industry.
At the core of TRIPKIT 6th Edition is the newly redesigned Travel Career Development (TCD) 12th Edition. The digital and print textbook, long used by colleges and higher education programmes, has been reworked to support modern new-agent onboarding and is available both within TRIPKIT and as a standalone resource.
The Institute noted that TCD 12th Edition is designed to complement host agency, consortia and supplier training. Its content spans sales, service, business operations, legal considerations, technology, advisor roles, global itineraries and career pathways, supported by application exercises and practical insights from industry professionals.
Margaret Haas Wolf, Director of Advisor Development at Brownell Travel, said: “The richness of the new TCD 12th Edition content really stands out. TCD 12th Edition complements our host agency training without overlapping, fills key knowledge gaps, and even helps us vet new recruits who may not have the industry basics.”
TRIPKIT 6th Edition is also being used by Oasis Travel Network as a white-label training solution, connecting agents to The Travel Institute’s learning management system for new agent education.
Erwing Hernandez, CTA, CTC, Executive Vice President for Oasis, said: “The Travel Institute aligns perfectly with our mission and this new TRIPKIT is a game-changer for advisor development and long-term success. TRIPKIT 6th Edition represents the next evolution of travel education – practical, modern, and designed to meet our advisors where they are in today’s marketplace and equip them with the knowledge, confidence, and tools they need to grow their businesses, better serve their clients, and elevate the profession as a whole.”
In addition to TCD 12th Edition, TRIPKIT 6th Edition includes updated geography and destination content, expert-led sessions, structured learning tracks, an interactive study plan with videos and quizzes, an entrepreneur’s checklist, and the Travel Agent Proficiency (TAP) Test, positioned as an entry-level industry assessment.
The 6th Edition replaces the previous 5th Edition released in 2023. Its launch follows recent industry data pointing to increased utilisation of travel advisors in 2026 and growing recognition of the profession in employment trends.
Guida Botelho added: “Passion for travel is a great starting point for new talent but successful careers require a solid foundation with comprehensive education. Whether for an individual or an entire team, utilizing TRIPKIT is a powerful investment that builds confidence, sharpens skills, and ensures today’s newcomers are truly job-ready in the fast-paced, rewarding world of travel.”
