SAN DIEGO, CA – Cloudbeds has announced its partnership with h2c in releasing the 2025 Global Study: “AI & Automation in Hospitality: Navigating Today’s Challenges, Shaping Tomorrow’s Gains.” The report, based on 189 quantitative responses and 26 executive interviews from 171 hotel chains representing 11,000 properties and 1.3 million rooms worldwide, provides one of the most comprehensive snapshots to date of how the hospitality industry is adopting and implementing AI.
Key findings

- Integration gaps: Only 6% of hotel chains report having a comprehensive AI strategy, despite broad uptake.
- Barriers to scale: Lack of expertise (62%), unclear strategy (51%), and integration challenges (45%) remain significant hurdles.
- Value drivers: Business intelligence (78%) and guest communication (77%) rank as the most valuable current applications, while personalization and upselling are priorities for future growth.
“The study confirms what we see daily: adoption is rising, but integration and clarity are the roadblocks,” said Adam Harris, CEO of Cloudbeds. “We are focused on solving both by turning fragmented data into an organizational-wide asset and transforming systems of record into systems of action. That’s how you reduce costs, lift revenue, and keep the guest experience at the center.”
The report was supported by 15 global IT vendors, reflecting broad industry collaboration to help hoteliers better understand AI’s potential. Cloudbeds’ involvement underscores its focus on technology that simplifies operations, drives revenue, and enhances the guest experience.
For travel trade and hospitality professionals, the study offers a data-driven view of where AI adoption stands today, what challenges remain, and how hotels can align technology str ategies with revenue growth and guest satisfaction.
