The Warsaw-Stavanger route is the seventh connection we have launched this year. The city is considered not only a gateway to the fjords - an attraction that lures in tourists from all over the world, but also one of Europe’s most important oil industry centers that has been shaping the region's economic growth for decades now. With this connection, we are not only opening up new opportunities for tourists wishing to explore Norway's extraordinary landscapes, but are also responding to the needs of a large group of Polish professionals working in the Stavanger region.

Stavanger - capital of the majestic Rogaland region

The city of Stavanger is located on the southwest coast of Norway, in Rogaland County, and is an important cultural, business and tourist center. It combines the charms of its historic old town with modern infrastructure and the unique atmosphere of a major harbor. Of particular note is the Gamle Stavanger district also known as the Old Town. The colorful wooden houses are a pure delight embodying the atmosphere of Norway from the days gone by, and numerous narrow cobblestone streets lead to boutique art galleries, cafes and restaurants offering local specialties. The city is also an excellent starting point for exploring the spectacular landscapes of the Rogaland region, including some of Norway's most recognizable attractions.

Norway - the land of fjords

The region impresses with its diversity and majestic natural beauty, offering an extensive list of tourist attractions. The iconic Preikestolen cliff, rising 604 meters above the surface of the Lysefjord, is one of the most famous viewpoints in the world and a true symbol of Norway. The vast panorama of the fjord surrounded by monumental rock walls is a truly breathtaking sight. The name Lysefjord translates freely into "light fjord" and refers to light-colored granite rocks. It stretches for more than 40 kilometers, and a cruise through its waters is a unique experience, with vertical rock walls plunging straight down to the surface of the water and each bend of the fjord revealing a whole new, magical perspective. A hike to Kjerag, the rock massif towering over Lysefjord, with its walls rising to a height of more than 1,000 meters, offers a great deal of excitement as well. It is here that the famous Kjeragbolten is located - a huge boulder wedged between two rocks and suspended above a precipice. Rogaland, however, is not only a land of mountains and fjords. It also boasts magnificent coastal landscapes of a completely different nature. Sola beach, located near Stavanger, is considered one of the most beautiful in Norway. In summer, it attracts water sports enthusiasts and strollers. In winter - it charms with its tranquility.

Stavanger and the Rogaland region reveal their unique nature as the seasons of the year pass by. In winter, the crystal-clear air, tranquil aura and extraordinary landscapes allow visitors to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of true Scandinavia, with its cozy cafes and local hospitality. With the arrival of spring and summer, the region blossoms into full color. Long polar days are conducive to hiking and biking, while clear lakes and coastal beaches attract nature and water sports enthusiasts. Stavanger is a destination that offers unique experiences all year round.

Flavors of Norway

A trip to Stavanger is not only an amazing adventure in a natural setting - it is also a unique culinary experience. The city is considered the food capital of Norway, and the annual Gladmat festival held here attracts foodies from around the world. Local cuisine is based on the highest quality products - fresh fish, lamb or venison. Torsk (cod), prepared according to traditional recipes, is particularly popular. Norway's national dish, on the other hand, is fårikål, a one-pot stew made of lamb or mutton and cabbage, often served on special occasions, especially in autumn. And those who are more adventurous in testing new flavors may try such Norwegian delicacies as rakfisk - a fermented fish - usually trout. Norwegian cuisine combines local traditions with modern techniques to create dishes that highlight the natural origins of northern ingredients. Tasting Norwegian specialties in Stavanger is an integral part of any trip to the region.
