Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth has arrived on the US west coast for its first ever season sailing Alaska cruises.
The UK based Carnival Corp owned line is in Seattle where it will homeport for seven to 11-night Alaska cruises.
These cruise feature lecture speakers through Cunard’s ongoing partnership with the Royal Canadian Geographical Society.
There are also expert speakers from Alaska, such as historians and a dance group.
“This partnership marks a major milestone in our work to expand economic activity and to support local jobs through cruise,” said Port of Seattle director Steve Metruck.
Following the Alaska season, Queen Elizabeth will sail a full season Caribbean cruises out of Miami, starting in October.
“We know how vital it is to not only have Caribbean voyages, but be in the cruise capital of the world. Miami is the heart of cruising,” said Liz Fettes, Cunard’s SVP of commercial, North America.
