Athens, Greece – June 12, 2025: Athens International Airport today hosted a special press event in the heart of Athens to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The event marked a significant milestone in the airline’s journey and reaffirmed the enduring partnership between Greece and Bahrain.
The
celebration highlighted the long-standing and growing relationship between Gulf
Air and Athens International Airport, as well as the broader ties between
Bahrain and Greece. Gulf Air’s connection to Greece dates back over four
decades, with the airline inaugurating its first flight to Athens in 1980.
Since then, Athens has played a vital role in Gulf Air’s European network,
serving as an important gateway to the continent.
