Sabre said that BA’s NDC fares and ancillaries are now available through platforms including Sabre Red 360, Sabre Red Launchpad, and Sabre’s Offer and Order APIs.
The move means Sabre-connected agents and corporates can now shop, book and service the airline’s NDC content alongside traditional EDIFACT and ATPCO channels. For NDC bookings, BA’s Distribution Technology Charge (DTC) of £13/€15 per sector is replaced by a “reduced” fee.
Colm Lacy, British Airways’ chief commercial officer, said: “We want to give customers a seamless digital-first retailing experience, so we’re pleased to extend access to our exclusive NDC content, using Sabre’s technology, to our agencies worldwide.
“This will open up even more ways for agencies to search, book and service our offers, all while providing a more personalised experience for customers across the globe.”
BA’s owner IAG and Sabre agreed a new distribution deal in early 2024, which included both NDC and EDIFACT content.
“Sabre is proud to continue leading the way in NDC adoption by providing robust technology solutions that empower our customers to evolve with the industry,” said Kathy Morgan, senior vice president, distribution experience, at Sabre Travel Solutions.
“Our partnership with British Airways demonstrates our commitment to building a modern travel marketplace where agencies have access to the most comprehensive content portfolio available.”
BA added in a statement that agents using Sabre’s platforms would have “instant access to an expanded selection of ancillary products such as seating, with further ancillaries due later in the year”.
