TIS 2025 to spotlight AI and sustainable tourism innovation in Seville

At FITUR 2025, Silvia Avilés Giraud, the Event Director of the Tourism Innovation Summit (TIS), unveiled the summit’s upcoming edition, emphasizing the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the tourism sector.

Scheduled for October 22 to 24, 2025, in Seville, TIS 2025 aims to explore how AI can redefine traveler experiences and industry operations.

Embracing AI in Tourism

Avilés introduced the campaign “Innovation in Motion, Tourism Reimagined,” highlighting AI’s potential to revolutionize various facets of tourism.

She stated, “In TIS2025, we are going to reimagine tourism to adapt it to this new reality and to redefine the new roadmap always from an ethical, innovative, and sustainable point of view.”

The summit will delve into AI’s impact on destinations, hotels, and the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) sector.

Discussions will focus on how AI can enhance traveler experiences through personalized services, efficient resource management, and innovative solutions.

Anticipated Participation and Objectives

TIS 2025 expects to attract between 7,000 to 8,000 professionals, including tourism leaders, hotel managers, and destination executives.

The event aims to serve as a marketplace for tourism leaders to explore the latest travel tech solutions, emphasizing the rapid digitization of the industry.

Avilés noted, “The tourism industry is digitized very soon; it’s not evolving as well here in Spain, a leading destination in tourism, on hotel management, service client.”

Transforming Traveler Experiences

The integration of AI is set to change how travelers and industry professionals perceive and engage with tourism.

Avilés emphasized that AI will transform the entire travel ecosystem, affecting experiences before, during, and after travel.

She highlighted the need to adapt to travelers’ demands for unique and authentic experiences, hyper-personalization, and sustainable options.

Korea as the Next Destination Partner

Avilés announced that Korea will be the next destination partner for TIS, aiming to build a business bridge between Korean and global tourism perspectives.

The partnership will bring together major players to discuss mutual needs and opportunities. This collaboration follows the previous year’s partnership with China, which was the guest country at TIS 2024.

Reflecting on TIS 2024

The previous edition, TIS 2024, transformed Seville into the epicenter of the global tourism sector, bringing together nearly 8,000 attendees and professionals who came to discover the latest innovations and trends from 221 exhibiting firms and 416 experts and world leaders.

The event also hosted 41 international delegations, including a notable delegation from China as the guest country.

Looking Ahead

As the tourism sector continues to evolve, TIS 2025 aims to provide a platform for industry leaders to collaborate, share insights, and drive the future of tourism through innovation and sustainable practices.

Avilés concluded, “We are at a turning point, and that is why we want to find solutions to this challenge right now before the problem becomes a problem.”

The summit’s focus on AI and technology underscores the industry’s commitment to adapting to changing traveler expectations and technological advancements.

By embracing these innovations, the tourism sector aims to enhance traveler experiences, optimize operations, and promote sustainable growth.
