Before making his mark on the PGA TOUR in 2022, Theegala built an impressive collegiate career at Pepperdine University in Southern California, earning three-time “All American” honors. His exceptional talent was further recognized when he claimed the Haskins Award, Ben Hogan Award, and Jack Nicklaus Award—an elite feat accomplished by only four others in the sport’s history.
Currently ranked No. 19 in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR), Theegala has amassed nearly $20 million in career earnings. His first PGA TOUR victory came at the 2023 Fortinet Classic, and he later played a pivotal role in the victorious 2024 U.S. Presidents Cup team. Additionally, he is a key member of the Los Angeles Golf Club in the Tomorrow Golf League (TGL), the innovative new golf competition.
“We are excited about our new partnership with such an exceptional player and person as is Sahith Theegala,” says Dan Surette, Chief Sales Officer at Omni Hotels & Resorts. “This signing continues to signify Omni’s commitment to a ‘best-in-class’ brand highlighted by our exceptional collection of golf resorts and working with ambassadors like Sahith, who will help us bring the game of golf to all ages and skill levels across the country.”
“It’s an honor to begin this new partnership with an impressive family-owned organization like Omni,” says Theegala. “I’m so excited by Omni’s commitment to bringing golfers together to enjoy the game of a lifetime, but even more important is their ongoing support and interaction in local communities with charitable initiatives like their ‘Birdies-or-Better’ campaign which feeds thousands upon thousands of our fellow citizens in need.”
Omni Hotels & Resorts has expanded its commitment to fighting hunger with the Birdies-or-Better initiative, an extension of its Say Goodnight to Hunger program. Through this initiative, Omni donates a meal to a local Feeding America network food bank for every guest stay at one of its hotels or resorts.
Launched in 2018, the Birdies-or-Better program takes this mission a step further by providing four meals to families in need for every birdie-or-better recorded during PGA TOUR events. This initiative not only strengthens Omni’s impact on hunger relief but also ties the excitement of professional golf to meaningful community support.
