The Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA) completed today, February 14th, 2025, the certification process of three more airports operated by the Hellenic Aviation Service Provider (HASP), namely Kithira Airport "Alexander Aristotelous Onassis", Chios Airport "Omiros" and the Municipal Airport of Sitia "Vitsentzos Kornaros".
The Certificates were delivered by the Governor of the HCAA, Dr. Christos Tsitouras, to the Airport Managers of the three airports, in the presence of the Governor of the Hellenic Aviation Service Provider, Mr. Georgios Saounatsos, and the Deputy Governor of the Hellenic Aviation Service Provider, Mr. Georgios Vagenas, at a special event held at the HCAA premises.
Certification of the HASP operated aerodromes by the HCAA is progressing within the announced timetable, confirming compliance with the operational and organisational requirements established by the European Union and EASA.
The certification process of the state airports of Heraklion and Alexandroupolis took place on January 24th, 2025, while the airports of Ioannina, Syros, and Milos received a certificate on January 31st. The process is expected to be concluded with the certification of the state airports of Karpathos and Lemnos by the end of February 2025.
