More cancellations as Gatwick fog disruption continues

Thousands of passengers at Gatwick Airport are being disrupted for a fourth day due to thick fog south of London.

At least 20 flights were cancelled today and travelers have been warned of ongoing delays throughout Monday.

An airport spokesperson said: “Temporary air traffic restrictions have been put in place due to fog causing poor visibility. Some flights may be delayed throughout the day. London Gatwick apologises for any inconvenience.”

“A small number of flights have been cancelled in advance to avoid last-minute cancellations.”

There was thick fog yesterday with visibility at only about 200 metres.

It has improved today, and the airport said it is ‘returning to normal’ but is still affecting flights this morning.

Heathrow, Stansted and other major airports mostly unaffected today.

With fog causing disruption for the fourth day in a row at Gatwick Airport, passengers are growing increasingly frustrated.

Travellers have been posting angry messages online, miffed at a general the lack of communication from airlines and airport staff.
