IHG And HMI Lead The Way With New ANA Crowne Plaza Hotels Transforming Japan’s Hospitality & Travel Industry

IHG ANA Hotels Group Japan (IHG) is collaborating with Hotel Management International (HMI) to enhance its presence in Japan through the rebranding of three existing hotels under the ANA Crowne Plaza brand. This strategic move marks a significant milestone in IHG’s expansion strategy within the country. The partnership is set to transform these properties into high-end accommodations that cater to both domestic and international travelers, ensuring that the ANA Crowne Plaza brand continues to deliver exceptional hospitality experiences.

The three properties, currently known as Crown Palais hotels, will collectively offer 539 rooms. These hotels will be rebranded as ANA Crowne Plaza Kochi, ANA Crowne Plaza Chiryu, and ANA Crowne Plaza Hamamatsu. As part of the transformation, each hotel will undergo comprehensive renovations to align with the Crowne Plaza brand’s standards of comfort, style, and service. The renovation process will ensure that each property is equipped with modern amenities and features that appeal to business and leisure travelers alike.

The rebranding initiative is expected to be completed by the first half of 2026, at which point the hotels will officially open their doors under their new identities. This development will see the ANA Crowne Plaza network in Japan grow to a total of 23 properties, further solidifying its presence in key markets across the country. With the addition of these three hotels, IHG aims to strengthen its footprint in Japan’s competitive hospitality sector and cater to the increasing demand for quality accommodations.

ANA Crowne Plaza Kochi, one of the rebranded properties, will serve as a gateway for travelers exploring the scenic beauty and cultural heritage of the Kochi region. Meanwhile, ANA Crowne Plaza Chiryu will strategically position itself to attract business travelers and tourists in the bustling city of Chiryu, offering convenience and top-tier services. ANA Crowne Plaza Hamamatsu will cater to visitors in the renowned city of Hamamatsu, known for its rich cultural history and vibrant business environment.

The partnership between IHG and HMI reflects a shared commitment to excellence and innovation in the hospitality industry. By combining IHG’s global reach and brand recognition with HMI’s local market expertise, the collaboration aims to create memorable guest experiences and set new benchmarks in service delivery. This strategic alliance underscores IHG’s confidence in the growth potential of Japan’s tourism and hospitality market.

These new additions will join the prestigious ranks of the ANA Crowne Plaza portfolio, which already includes well-established properties such as ANA Crowne Plaza Osaka and ANA Crowne Plaza Kanazawa. These hotels have been instrumental in defining the brand’s reputation for luxury, comfort, and impeccable service in Japan. The integration of the three new hotels will enhance the brand’s offerings and provide guests with a broader range of options in more locations.

As IHG continues to expand its ANA Crowne Plaza brand across Japan, the company remains committed to upholding its core values of quality, consistency, and guest satisfaction. The rebranding of these three hotels is a testament to IHG’s long-term vision of growth and its dedication to enhancing the guest experience through strategic partnerships and innovative hospitality solutions.

The introduction of ANA Crowne Plaza Kochi, ANA Crowne Plaza Chiryu, and ANA Crowne Plaza Hamamatsu will significantly bolster IHG’s expanding portfolio in Japan. With these additions, IHG continues to strengthen its foothold in the Japanese market, enhancing its reputation as a premier provider of luxury hospitality. Currently, IHG operates 47 hotels across Japan, with 15 more in various stages of development, underscoring the brand’s commitment to growth and its confidence in the potential of Japan’s hospitality sector.

These upcoming openings reflect IHG’s strategic expansion efforts, aimed at catering to the increasing demand for high-quality accommodations throughout Japan. The rebranding of these hotels under the ANA Crowne Plaza banner not only boosts the brand’s visibility but also promises to deliver exceptional guest experiences that align with IHG’s global standards. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to expand IHG’s presence in key regions, meeting the needs of both business and leisure travelers seeking comfort, convenience, and top-tier service.
