UK CAA Regulator signs working arrangement with Japan

The UK Civil Aviation Authority’s Chief Executive, Rob Bishton signed the arrangement today (Thursday 25 July 2024) at the Farnborough International Airshow.

Rob Bishton met with Makoto Eguchi, Director of Airworthiness Standards and International Affairs Office at the Japan Civil Aviation Bureau, to sign the Working Arrangement which Mr. Hiraoka, Director-General of JCAB, signed in Tokyo.

The agreement further expands the scope of cooperation between the UK and Japanese regulators.

It means, the scope of cooperation can be gradually expanded by developing Technical Arrangements for each area of the new Working Arrangement.

This agreement is expected to reduce the burden on the aviation industries of both countries, promote the free distribution of civil aviation products, and strengthen cooperation between the UK and Japan regarding aviation safety.

Rob Bishton, Chief Executive at the UK Civil Aviation Authority said:

"Keeping close ties with our counterparts across the aviation industry is vital towards ensuring aviation remains safe and sufficient for people across the world.

"Our Arrangement with the Japan Civil Aviation Bureau, strengthens our pre-existing ties to support the industry and allows us to continue working together effectively."
