The Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation, and the Pacific Tourism Organization, Fiji, through a local collaboration, organized the 7th South Pacific Tourism Exchange on May 4-5, 2024 in Nadi, successfully.
This event fortified alliances and the joint commitment toward sustainable tourism in the Pacific by offering a platform to endorse the exclusive experiences in Pacific.
The SPTE 2024 attracted all tourism professionals, industry leaders, stakeholders, and regional partners together. This meeting nurtured the partnerships and emphasized the exclusive cultural heritage and varied offerings of each participating island nation, throwing light on the essence of the Pacific spirit.
As a founding member, Fiji echoed its promise toward regionalism and host country of the SPTO. As different to earlier years when the SPTE was organized in New Zealand and Australia, the event for 2024 highlighted a major shift by letting a member country to organize it. The excellent management between the main stakeholders, including SPTO, MTCA, and Tourism Fiji, was helpful in bringing this vision to life.
As SPTE 2024 started a journey with the theme – Pacific Fusion: Celebrating Diverse Products and Cultures, Port Denarau Marina and the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort, buzzed with energy.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism, Fiji, Hon. Viliame Gavoka, in his opening speech, hailed the SPTE as the main event nurturing regional tourism development.
