Farner brings a wealth of experience to the MNAA Board. He has been the Business Manager and Secretary-Treasurer of the Southeast Laborers’ District Council since 2004, representing thousands of workers in the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LiUNA) across the Southeast.
His extensive career with LiUNA includes roles in workplace health and safety, labor-management relations, marketing and business development, and contract negotiations. Farner is particularly noted for his dedication to recruiting and training workers for the construction industry. A native Tennessean, Farner grew up in East Tennessee and earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health from East Tennessee State University. His commitment to the Nashville community is reflected in his previous service as a board member of the Employee Benefits Study and Formulating Committee, the Metropolitan Transit Authority, WeGo Public Transit, and the Metropolitan Sports Authority. He now resides in Nashville with his wife Monica and their two children, William and Anna Grace.
