Rise in travel job placements

The number of candidates being placed in new travel jobs jumped by over one-third last month, according to the latest figures from C&M Travel Recruitment.

April’s total was the highest for nine months (since July 2023) and was also up by 15% from April 2023.

It was the first year-on-year increase for travel placements since January 2023.

There was a small decrease in new candidates during the month, with the number of new jobseekers dipping by 6% from March.

However, the total was up by 9% from April 2023.

The month also saw a dip in new travel job vacancies with a 19% per from March.

Barbara Kolosinska, Managing Director at C&M Travel Recruitment, said: “Any month when job placements rise by a third has to be considered a very positive few weeks. Placements are still down compared to pre-pandemic, but they rose from last April which is a bright sign as we head into the early summer.”

“It’s also still a mixed picture for both new candidates and vacancies which rise one month and then dip the next. New travel roles are being made available each and every day, but what we really need is consistency.”
