Overall travel demand is unwavering with 93% of Americans still indicating plans to go somewhere in the next six months, be it domestically or overseas.
According to the latest Longwoods International tracking study of American travelers Longwoods International tracking study of American travelers, 39% are likely to take an international leisure trip in the next 12 months.
Over one-third of those planning international travel say they will take more international trips this year, while 50% plan to take about the same number of such trips.
Only 16% are planning fewer international trips, the survey says.
“The expected boost in international travel by Americans is impressive, given lingering concerns about inflation and the financial health of the US consumer,” said Amir Eylon, President and CEO of Longwoods International.
Of those planning international leisure travel, 46% said these trips would have no impact on their domestic travel plans, while 54% said they would reduce the number, length or spending on domestic travel.
Nearly one-third plan to take their international trip in the next two months.
The survey, supported by Miles Partnership, was fielded May 8, 2024 using a national sample randomly drawn from 1,000 adults, ages 18 and over.
