Additionally, it plans to construct a new pier at its exclusive destination in The Bahamas to accommodate current and future ships more readily.
From 2026 to 2036, NCLH will introduce eight new cruise vessels across its three brands. In addition to the Norwegian Cruise Line’s (NCL) four Prima-Plus vessels due to arrive from 2025 to 2028, the holding company shared that NCL will take delivery of four more ships.
Each will weigh around 200,000 gross tons and be capable of carrying almost 5,000 guests. These will be ready in 2030, 2032, 2034 and 2036.
Meanwhile, Oceania Cruises will welcome two 86,000-ton cruise vessels with 1,450-guest capacities in 2027 and 2029.
NCLH’s third brand, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, will have two additional 77,000-ton cruise vessels in 2026 and 2029. Each will carry up to 850 passengers
The holding company said that its new ships will feature new vessel classes with designs based on efficiency, sustainability, and innovation. They will all be built by Fincantieri. The eight vessels represent almost 25,000 additional berths, a substantial 38% increase from 2023.
Though their costs haven’t been revealed, the company relies on financing to bear most expenses. Already, 80% of the contract prices of Oceania and Regent’s ships have been secured with export credit financing.
According to the parent company, NCLH’s pre-delivery financing and manageable installment payments will still allow it to reduce debt over the long term.
The company’s president and CEO, Harry Sommer, expects the new builds to ensure NCLH’s continued growth. “This strategic new-ship order across all three of our award-winning brands provides for the steady introduction of cutting-edge vessels into our fleet and solidifies our long-term growth.”
