Cruise Excellence Awards Gala 2024 marks significant in global cruise industry

 

The prestigious Cruise Excellence Awards Gala 2024 was celebrated with grandeur at the Tenerife Auditorium, marking a significant event in the cruise industry calendar.

This illustrious gathering saw over 250 distinguished guests, including notable cruise company executives, local authorities, tour operators, shipping agents, ports, travel agents, and a wide array of professionals, entrepreneurs, and suppliers from the sector.

The evening was hosted by the charismatic comedian and showman “Mr. Corrales,” with entertainment provided by DYVINETZ among others, ensuring a lively and engaging atmosphere for all attendees. The gala not only served as a celebration of the industry’s achievements but also as a testament to its resilience and innovation.

Virginia López Valiente, CEO of Cruises News Media Group, took the opportunity to highlight the significant growth and adaptation of the cruise sector in 2023, meeting new social, environmental, technological, and innovation requirements ahead of time. This year’s awards were particularly noteworthy for incorporating new categories, reflecting the evolving landscape of the cruise industry.

Among the winners, Port de Barcelona was honored with the Excellence Award for Best Spanish Cruise Port 2023, showcasing its prominence and commitment to excellence. Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, Silversea Cruises, Costa Cruceros, MSC World Europa, MSC Euribia, MSC Cruceros, CroisiEurope, Oceania Cruises, Norwegian Prima, Princess Cruises, and AmaWaterways were also recognized across various categories, highlighting the diversity and quality of experiences offered by the cruise industry.

Special awards were presented to Virgin Voyages, Windstar Cruises, and Intercruises Shoreside & Port Services, acknowledging their significant milestones and contributions to the sector. Additionally, Puertos de Tenerife honored several local companies and institutions for their dedication to Tenerife and their commendable humanitarian and social work.

The selection of Tenerife as the host city for the second consecutive year reaffirms its importance to the cruise industry, following previous celebrations in notable Spanish cities. The Cruise Excellence Awards, a CruisesNews Media Group initiative, emphasize the power of passenger and travel agent votes, awarded across 18 categories, showcasing the best in cruise experiences.

This edition was supported by the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and a coalition of public and private entities, underlining a collective effort to promote and celebrate excellence in the cruise industry.
