This significant collaboration was announced at a ceremony held in Berlin on November 3, 2023, with a memorandum of understanding signed by H.E. Vilma Bello, Deputy Minister of Tourism, and Deborah Rothe, Director of ITB Berlin.
Albania, a Southeast-European country with remarkable tourism potential, will showcase its hospitality, vibrant culture, and stunning landscapes during ITB Berlin 2025, scheduled from March 4 to 6, 2025, as a pure B2B event. The collaboration aims to provide Albania with a global platform and an opportunity to engage with an international audience.
Deputy Minister Vilma Bello expressed her enthusiasm, stating that ITB Berlin, as the foremost travel trade show in the tourism industry, brings together stakeholders from around the world. She believes that this partnership will be instrumental in promoting Albania’s ambitious plans and connecting with a wider audience.
Dirk Hoffmann, COO of Messe Berlin, emphasized Albania’s potential and its significant role in the global travel landscape. He noted that ITB Berlin has always recognized trends and the potential of various countries and regions, and Albania is no exception. The collaboration is seen as an opportunity to put Albania on the international stage.
ITB Berlin Director Deborah Rothe, who personally experienced Albania’s hospitality and spirit, expressed her delight in the partnership, stating that Albania would undoubtedly enrich ITB Berlin 2025 and attract numerous new enthusiasts to the country.
Albania has been gaining popularity with travelers in recent years, thanks to its vibrant capital, Tirana, its picturesque coastlines, turquoise bays, and pristine hinterland. The country also appeals to hiking enthusiasts and offers an excellent price-performance ratio.
As the Official Host Country, Albania will have a prominent presence at ITB Berlin. It will kick off the trade show with a festive opening gala in the CityCube Berlin on March 3, 2025, showcasing its traditional folklore and culinary delights. During the event, Albania will have an extensive stand on the fairground, allowing attendees to explore the country’s offerings. Additionally, Albania is expected to play a significant role in the program at the ITB Berlin Convention, running parallel to the trade show.
This collaboration promises to be a win-win for both ITB Berlin and Albania, with the country’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty taking center stage, and the trade show benefiting from Albania’s vibrant presence. ITB Berlin 2025 is poised to be a remarkable event, uniting the global travel industry and highlighting the potential of this beautiful Southeast-European destination.
