ITB Asia 2023 launches with remarkable 35% surge in international exhibitors

 

Singapore’s iconic Marina Bay Sands welcomed the commencement of ITB Asia 2023, today. Co-located with MICE Show Asia and Travel Tech Asia, the event offers three days of networking opportunities with international exhibitors and a wealth of insightful conference sessions.

The guest of Honour Alvin Tan, Minister of State at the Ministry of Trade and Industry in Singapore, officially opened the event alongside Melissa Ow, Chief Executive of the Singapore Tourism Board, and David Ruetz, Senior Vice President of Messe Berlin, who had the honor of inaugurating the show.

The key industry players from around the world came together at ITB Asia 2023 to celebrate the leading travel trade show in Asia. ITB Asia 2023 boasts over 1,838 international exhibitors, marking an impressive 35% increase in new exhibitors. Furthermore, there is a 38% growth in MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) exhibitors and a staggering 200% surge in travel technology exhibitors. With over 1,300 top-tier global buyers and more than a hundred conference speakers participating, ITB Asia 2023 is off to a robust start.

David Ruetz, Senior Vice President of Messe Berlin, commented, “I am delighted about the noticeable rise in the number of international exhibitors. Coming back to the live format in 2022, ITB Asia has established itself as a trendsetter for the entire industry.”

The ITB Asia 2023 is marked by a remarkable presence of over 80 National Tourism Organisations (NTOs) and Regional Tourism Organisations (RTOs).

The show, headlined by exhibition sponsors including Busan Tourism Organization, Japan National Tourism Organization, Korea Tourism Startup Center, Penang Global Tourism, Sentosa Development Corporation, Tourism Promotions Board Philippines, and Visit Finland, is set to facilitate numerous collaborations between destinations, buyers, and service providers.

Under the theme “Accelerating Growth: Paving the Way for New Opportunities in Travel & Tourism,” the ITB Asia Conference will serve as a hub for fresh ideas and networking. With over 160 speakers delivering 4,000 minutes of speeches in more than 100 sessions spanning three days, the conference will explore topics critical to the future of MICE, corporate travel, leisure travel, and travel technology.

The startup arena within the Travel Tech Asia Hall will provide an exciting platform for startup exhibitors to showcase their innovations to an expert audience.

Looking ahead to the future, booth registration for ITB Asia 2024 is now open, with Super Early Bird rates available until October 31, 2023.
