IMEX America powers on with successful business stories and networking

IMEX America continued to buzz with energy on its second day, as thousands of event planners and suppliers engaged in business meetings, networked in coffee lines and cafes and celebrated their successes. The event facilitated critical connections in the world of meetings and events, with participants sharing their experiences.

Jessica Cox from Embassy Suites, Nashville Downtown, highlighted her fruitful negotiations with an association group on day one, which culminated in a finalized contract on day two. She also expressed excitement about her appointment with a Fortune 500 financial institution.

Many of the success stories at the event were driven by established relationships that had originated from previous IMEX shows. For instance, Dawn Candrea from Hilton Sedona Resort at Bell Rock met a client at IMEX America the previous year, resulting in a signed contract and a program booking. The power of these encounters and relationships was evident.

The theme of relationship-building extended across various sectors, including the association industry. KiKi L’Italien, CEO and Founder of Amplified Growth emphasized the importance of human connections and shared communication strategies during a panel discussion on trust-building and community development.

The show also unveiled a growing trend in incentives, with a focus on experiences that reveal the cultural and artistic facets of destinations. Planners are increasingly interested in rewarding employees and fostering a sense of connection with the destination’s way of life.

Moreover, the event featured destination case studies highlighting how destinations collaborate with planners to create a positive impact and promote sustainability. The IMEX|EIC People and Planet Theater hosted these sessions, offering practical advice and firsthand insights.

IMEX America is set to conclude on Thursday, October 19, at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, leaving participants with newfound connections, innovative ideas, and an increased appreciation for the importance of human relationships in the meetings and events industry.
