Vienna Airport now offers even more culinary choices. Today, Thursday 5 October 2023, the “Daily Bar” opened at Vienna Airport, representing a new concept launched by the Austrian gastronomy legend Figlmüller. In addition to a view of the airport apron, the noble all-day bar offers a variety of Austrian as well as international snacks, ranging from various champagne brands, fine wines, freshly ground coffee and popular cocktails to Sacher sausages and apple strudel. Inspired by the elegant, Italian Riva mahogany boats, the design will allow passengers to relax in a luxurious atmosphere which already puts them in a holiday mood at the airport. The new bar is located behind the security check at the C Gates, directly opposite Figlmüller’s “Daily Roast,” which has already proven to be a successful airport concept. The opening of the new “Daily Bar” also marks an anniversary: Vienna’s most well-known schnitzel restaurateur Figlmüller has been operating at Vienna Airport now for 15 years.
“With the “Daily Bar,” we are creating an even bigger, high-quality gastronomic offering at Vienna Airport. The traditional national brand Figlmüller has succeeded perfectly in creating an elegant day bar here. The Figlmüller family has already been part and parcel of the culinary offering at the airport for 15 years, and we are introducing a new airport concept today to mark the 15thanniversary, showcasing the good spirit of cooperation,” states Julian Jäger, Joint CEO and COO of Vienna Airport.
"We are pleased to be able to open our new Daily Bar at Vienna Airport today! Based on a new concept and our longstanding partnership, we are celebrating our 15th anniversary at Vienna Airport at the same time. We are proud to provide unique culinary experiences and hope to enrich the offering at Vienna Airport. We look forward to more successful years in the future!”, says Thomas Figlmüller.
Daily Bar: New airport concept with the finest selection of drinks and snacks
Thanks to its new “Daily Bar,” Figlmüller has developed a new concept designed to offer travellers at Vienna Airport all the advantages of a day bar against the backdrop of an exclusive ambience. The selection of drinks offered focuses on various champagne brands, fine red and white wines as well as popular after dinner cocktails such as Espresso Martini, Gin Basil and Mojito. Traditional Viennese coffee from Daniel Moster is served in the bar using the Strada AV from La Marzocco, a world-famous espresso machine in an Italian cult design. The food being served includes Austrian-inspired warm and cold snacks such as Sacher sausages, Sacher cake and apple strudel as well as filled panini, croissants and much more. The well-conceived design is inspired by the luxurious and timeless classical mahogany creations of the motorboat manufacturer Riva. The bar area even resembles the bow of a boat. The bar invites guests to linger for a while on the bar seats or comfortable seating areas and should help to put travelers in a relaxed holiday mood thanks to its noble ambience and its upscale interior design. The “Daily Bar” at the C Gates is open daily from 6 a.m. until 8:30 p.m.
About Figlmüller: Viennese hospitality for more than 110 years
In the year 1905, Johann Figlmüller opened a small wine house in the Wollzeile, a street in Vienna just behind St. Stephan’s Cathedral and created the “Figlmüller Schnitzel”, which has been world famous up to this very day. Today Figlmüller has nine locations in Vienna. In addition to the original restaurant in the Wollzeile, a second Figlmüller restaurant opened in Baker Street. In 2004, the former Figlmüller tavern was transformed into Figls, a comfortable pub in the middle of Vienna’s vineyards. The Joma brasserie on Hoher Markt Street ensures an international flair and fuses traditional Viennese coffee house culture and an urban design. In December 2014, the Viennese inn returned to Lugeck. In the historic building Regensburger Hof, Figlmüller not only serves national dishes but also exciting new interpretations and little snacks when hunger strikes. People’s hunger can also be satisfied in the new Zwischengang Restaurant directly at St. Stephans Square, where guests will be spoiled by aperitifs and a breathtaking view. This year a sausage stand in the middle of Vienna’s old town was lovingly redesigned. Guests can enjoy the Viennese schnitzel in the Rotenturm Street in a brioche and breadcrumbs. The culinary offering is rounded off by the Daily Roast coffee shop and now the Daily Bar champagne bar at Vienna Airport.
