On 10 August, the world celebrated International LGBTQ+ Tourism Day—an opportunity to recognize and appreciate not only the positive impacts of queer travel across countries, but also its invaluable contribution toward job creation. This special day was created in 2020 by the Argentine LGBT Chamber of Commerce as a reminder that when we welcome travelers from all backgrounds into our destination, everyone can benefit—enriching both local economies as well communities throughout the world. Here at IGLTA, every single day is dedicated to exploring LGBTQ+ travel and tourism; however this important holiday reminds us just how significant those contributions are individually and collectively!
