In Mexico, tourism employment continues to revive. The revival of tourism’s main financial indicators is taking place. From international visitors, foreign exchange income has risen to 17.5 percent compared to
2023’s first four months compared to 2019.
The National Institute of Statistics and Geography’s international travellers study declared that between January and April 2023, almost $10.744 billion was recorded. This was 17 percent more compared to the same time last year and surpassing by 17.5 percent, captured in the first four months in 2019, which was $9.143 billion.
Moreover, between January and April 2023, tourists coming to Mexico by air gave more foreign exchange of $9.135 billion dollars. This rise was 14.6 percent next to the same time 2022 and in the first four months of 2019, an increase of 21.6 percent over the $7.514 billion dollars.
By air, the expenditure of tourists on average entering the country was $1,197.6. This was a growth of 3.8 percent compared to the same time last year. It spending exceeded by 14 percent, recorded in the first four months of 2019. In the meantime, income in foreign exchange from cruise amounted to $306.8 million
