This week as we round the corner into June, we find ourselves approaching the halfway mark for 2023. Like many of you, I can't help wondering: "My, how time is flying!"
This time of year typically marks the cusp of a seasonal and mental shift, especially in the Northern Hemisphere. Traditionally, we would see a bit of a lull in business travel as leisure travel takes the spotlight with summer vacations and time away for play. But at GBTA and across our members and industry, business and meetings travel continues at full steam ahead. It's also the beginning of what is shaping up to be a hot conference and events season, demonstrating the undeniable need and value of both in-person business and human connection.
We are two weeks away from our 2023 GBTA Sustainability Summit and U.S. Legislative Summit in Washington, D.C. Just in are the early research results from a major report underway from the GBTA Foundation's "Planet" division: "The State of Climate Change in Global Business Travel." We'll be unveiling the compelling results and insights at the Sustainability Summit. If you're involved in, putting together a sustainability program, or care about a greener future for business travel, this event is not to be missed. (You can register here.)
The 2023 GBTA Convention is also shaping up to be another exceptional gathering of the global business travel community – travel buyer, exhibitor and overall attendance registration is pacing well ahead of last year. We look forward to sharing more attendee details as the event gets closer.
And even though we've created a more compact Sunday-to-Tuesday format, the Expo floor at Convention will be "open for business" with 10 hours of exhibit time just like last year. We'll be kicking off in true Dallas-style on Sunday with the Welcome Reception on the Expo floor. Here's a look at what more – and what's new – that you can expect:
- Four captivating Main Stage sessions and 90+ Education sessions
- An expanded Connect First program for new and returning industry professionals
- A new Destination Pavilion for exploring great cities and locales for meetings
- And the return of the Sustainability Pavilion, which will move to the heart of the Expo as our industry continues to put climate action at the forefront
Are you making plans to head to Dallas? Be sure to plan to stay through Tuesday end of day, August 15th, for the final Expo and Main Stage sessions plus the ever-popular sponsor events happening Tuesday evening. (Wednesday morning flights will be plentiful!) GBTA Convention is the place where inspiration meets opportunity – don't miss out on one minute of either!
