Cyprus Airways announces March 2023 passenger figures

LARNACA, CYPRUS – Cyprus Airways announced its March passenger results during which it carried 25,899 passengers (558% more than March 22). Compared to March 2019, before the start of the pandemic, the airline carried 19% more passengers (Mar’19: 21,676). During March it operated 325% more flights (Mar’22: 63 flights) whilst improving the load factor by 22% points. The Airline also announced that it registered its highest forward sales ever, mostly for April, May, and June.

“Although we did not reach our budgeted figures, we continue to improve our performance, both when compared to our results of the same month last year, and to 2019, before COVID. Such figures fill us with confidence to continue improving our performance, especially by increasing our load factors,” said Paul Sies, Chief Executive of Cyprus Airways.

“We have just started operating our Summer flight schedule. At its peak, we will be flying to 19 destinations with over 60 return flights per week, offering over half a million seats for sale this summer. Sales of our summer flights are steadily selling out and we are looking forward to a busy summer to service our customers”, commented Capt. Andreas Georgiou, Chief Operations Officer of the Airline.

“A few days ago, we started operating to our new destinations of Dubai and Cairo, two important destinations for us as they fit perfectly with our strategic plans to improve Cyprus’ international connectivity. Next month we will continue expanding our connectivity by operating to the European hubs of Milan, Zurich, Prague and Basel with a multiple weekly schedule. We are proud to be the island’s flag carrier and a promoter of the Island and its growing economy”, added Mr Sies.
