$1M grant program to perk up Aboriginal Cultural Tourism

 

To grow as well as branch out, the Territory Labor Government is helping the Aboriginal tourism industry with a funding pool of one million dollars for the Aboriginal Tourism Grant Program’s round five sessions.

The businesses and organizations owned by Northern Territory Aboriginal with an aim to develop Aboriginal cultural tourism experiences and products can send an application for financing, between $30,000 and $100,000.


The funding might be utilized to improve or build up new infrastructure or set up new products like on country housing or cultural evening experiences.


Regarding the Northern Territory Aboriginal Tourism Strategy 2020-2030, the grants are an important feature with a target to expand a sustainable Aboriginal tourism industry.


This grant program will help the focus of the Strategy to build up quality experiences, services and products.


At present, applications are opened and close on 2nd June 2023.


The Aboriginal tourism team of Tourism NT give confidence to the applicants to talk about the ideas and applications before making a final submission.


The Minister for Tourism and Hospitality, Nicole Manison, said that the Territory Government is supporting in their tourism and aiding the Aboriginal-owned businesses with a target to develop and thrive.


These grants are an important medium to give these businesses a chance to develop and put up their tourism experiences in the Northern Territory.
