BIT 2023 anticipates the future of tourism with a schedule of events with new, high-quality content

MILAN – A time to meet and discuss where industry professionals exchange ideas on the major sector trends and turn them into opportunities for development through discussions with experts, leading international figures and corporate representatives from Italy and abroad.

All this, as well as an international platform where supply and demand meet, is offered at BIT 2023, at the Allianz MiCo in Milan from Sunday 12 to Tuesday 14 February of this year, thanks to the exclusive format of the events Bringing Innovation Into Travel by Business International, Fiera Milano’s content company, and organized in the four mega trend macro-themes of Innovation, Sustainability, Quality and Inclusion.

From the broader vision to professional development

The event will open with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in the presence of the Minister for Tourism the Honorable Daniela Santanchè, while major trends will be the center of events such as Territories and metaverse, an analysis of how the virtual experience can pave the way to the real world, or, from a slow and sustainable perspective, Nature Tourism: the awareness of “useful” travelers, so as to foster territories to get the best out of the growing desire to be immersed in nature, or Open-air Tourism: a tourism that counts, a look at the future prospects of this segment based on an MET Bocconi survey on the demand for outdoor holidays.

Appointments dedicated to the Italian product include Made in Italy, great events and territory in which, between current events, scenarios and vision, decision-makers and stakeholders will discuss the Strategic Plan and an industrial approach to tourism, or MICE, high-end Italy, which will analyze the capacities capable of creating experiences that are as exclusive as they are inclusive. Furthermore, The Prospects of Food and Wine Tourism in Italy will present the opportunities in this segment in the coming months. Following the success of the 2022 conference in Milan, LGBTQ+ Tourism: how incoming changes after the IGLTA 2022 Convention will delve into the picture of LGBTQI+ incoming tourism to Italy with the support of Bocconi University and AITGL.

Numerous professional workshops will be held. In the Dynamic Price: how tour operators’ business strategies are changing, flexibility, dynamism, security and their impact on supply and demand will be discussed. In the segment overview, Cruises broaden horizons will present focus on catering, inclusion of smaller ports and “free” excursions. The sustainable approach is at the center of meetings such as Airports and intermodality between sustainability, design and technology, also discussing with railway operators, and the opportunities of luxury in hotels, cruises, planes and shopping: the new frontiers of luxury, understood as a guest experience and service quality.

Featured digital transformation

Technology and digital transformation represent another major challenge for the industry to which several appointments in the schedule are dedicated. Travel digital experience will analyze the higher expectations of post-pandemic travelers regarding the digital experience, as well as 4.0 technologies and augmented reality will be the subject of The new tools that will change travel forever.
